Mansfield to Scarborough Cycle Ride · 2 October 2019

Mansfield Rotary Club has formed a Covid19 Response Team to offer direct support to those in our community affected by the pandemic. To date (26/5/20) we have made donations to various local organisations and individuals totalling just over £5000 via the club's Benevolent Fund Charity account

Story

Rotarian Cate Hunt and Maldwyn Johnson will be cycling 120 miles over two days, from Mansfield to Scarborough to attend Rotary District Conference 2019 in aid of local charities:

Mansfield Young Carers, Mansfield Music & Drama Festival and Rotary Ambassadors for Deaf and Hearing Impaired.

Maldwyn is a regular cyclist who enjoys cycling in the Peak District, as well as an annual long distance ride in the UK and Europe. However, Cate has not ridden a bike for over 30 years and has discovered that the old saying; "once you have learnt to ride a bike you never forget"  just isn't true! Despite scrapes, bruises, and punctures, Cate is making progress and is at least now staying upright. She is determined to succeed, with the  thought that all her efforts will go towards helping groups of local people.

Your support is appreciated.
